The Low-Poly Asset Path

Four phases, each with a named course and a checkpoint you can verify yourself. Don't skip phase 1 — every later tutorial assumes navigation and edit-mode basics are muscle memory.

Phase 1 — Blender fluency#

Pick one:

  • Blender Fundamentals 4.5 LTS (official, free, text+video with assignments) — systematic, every area surveyed.
  • Grant Abbitt: Blender 4 for Absolute Beginners (part 1 · part 2) (video) — warmer, project-driven, from an ex-games-industry teacher.

Checkpoint: model and UV-unwrap a simple prop (a crate, a fence post) without opening a tutorial.

Phase 2 — the low-poly technique#

Checkpoint: five props sharing one 64×64 palette texture and a single material.

Phase 3 — breadth#

Checkpoint: a small themed kit — five to ten pieces that visibly belong together.

Phase 4 — characters and the full loop#

Checkpoint: one rigged character idling inside Godot — which is exactly where the pipeline doc takes over.
